Annie Lennox is a Scottish singer and songwriter whose earliest successes include being the lead vocalist for the Eurythmics followed by a long-running solo career. She took America by storm with her unique vocal style when the Eurythmics released their hit songs, "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and "Here Comes the Rain Again." The US, Canada and France fell in love and these songs broke into Top 10 charts in all three countries. Lennox debuted her first solo album, Diva, in 1992. Lennox is the winner of several Grammy awards, an Academy Award, the American Music Awards and twenty ASCAP Awards. In addition to her musical awards, she was awarded several honors for her international work fighting HIV and AIDS, human rights and poverty in countries such as Africa. These honors include the prestigious Order of the British Empire.
