Toronto Blue Jays Continued:
1976: The Amercian League decides to expand to Toronto.
1977: Blue Jays Tickets prove massively popular. On April 7th, 44,659 fans brave freezing weather and snow for the first Jay game at Empire Stadium.
1982: On July 30th beer is sold at a Jay game for the first time, with a cost of $1.75
1983: Willie Upshaw becomes the first Jay to record 100 RBI's.
1984: Blue Jays tickets become an even hotter commodity. Over two million fans attend Jay games at Exhibition Stadium over the course of the regular season.
1985: The Jays win the American League East on October 5th with a 5-1 victory over the Yankees. The team then goes on to loose in the ALCS against the Kansas City Royals during a seven-game series.
1987: The Blue Jays lead the American League in attendance and register the sixth highest homer total in league history with 215 and an ML record 10 home-run game on September 14th.
1989: The Jays win their second American League East crown.
1992: The 92 roster truly equates to sporting greatness, resulting in the teams first World Series win.
1993: The Jays win the World Series yet again.
1994: From champions to stinkers. The Jays finish under .500 for the first time since 1982. Based on the strong performance of previous years, Blue Jays ticket sales remain strong.
1995: Carlos Delgado and Shawn Green establish themselves as powerhouse hitters. By the end of the season Delgado had racked up 44 homers and Green knocked in 42.
2001: New Manager Buck Martinez gets his first career win as the Jays beat the Chicago White Sox April 1st at the season opener in Puerto Rico.
2002: Carlos Delgado becomes the franchise lead in RBI at 741. Carlos Tosca becomes the ninth manager in club history.
