Born in 1958, Carmelita Ford is a British-born American rock music and singer, well-known as the lead guitarist for The Runaways. She had a great solo career from the '80s to 2000s, and was renowned for her high guitar skills. She has toured extensively.
Her initial album of '79, "Out for Blood," didn't fare well, but she achieved moderate success with the '84 "Dancin' on the Edge." Her next single, "Gotta Go," became one of her biggest hits. The '88 release, "Lita," was a success. She appeared in the film, "Highway to Hell" and had a U.S. and European tour in '09.
