A hardcore punk band from Vancouver, British Columbia, D.O.A. is considered a founder of the genre. Their second album, "Hardcore '81" is thought to be the first to make reference to the style. The preceding band was The Skulls, formed by Joey Shithead. After a few singles and an EP on his own label, D.O.A. toured North America and released a full-length debut, "Something Better Change" in '80.
A new line-up had several popular releases, such as the EP "War On 45" in '85, "Let's Wreck The Party" and "True (North) Strong and Free" in '87. The band broke up in '90, but reformed in '92 with an EP. In 2010, they released their fourteenth album, "Talk Minus Action=Zero."
