Kid Rock Announces Born Free Tour

Yesterday, Kid Rock announced the first round of dates for his Born Free Tour, which will take him to cities all over the U.S. in 2011.

According to his official website, Kid Rock will kick off the tour with a huge party of a show at the Detroit Lions’ Ford Field on January 15th, honoring his 40th birthday.

The tour announcement comes on the heels of Kid Rock’s new release, Born Free. For fans who can’t wait until January to hear Kid Rock perform his new tunes, you can see him perform the album’s title track, “Born Free,” Thursday, November 25th on CBS during the Detroit Lions vs New England Patriots Thanksgiving half-time show.

More tour dates are expected to come in the near future. The first leg of the tour will wrap up in Memphis, TN on March 12th. Country music’s Jamey Johnson will serve as Kid Rock’s opening act for all dates on the road. His new album, The Guitar Song, was released in September.
