Vampire Weekend Adds Dates to Contra Tour

New York Indie-rockers, Vampire Weekend, have just announced new dates to their 2010 Contra Tour. Beach House and Dum Dum Girls will be joining the band for the majority of the added fall shows.

The Contra Tour has already taken the band to Europe, Australia, and North America. The first North American leg of the tour began in March, following the January release of Vampire Weekend’s second album, Contra. The highly anticipated second effort debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and sold over one hundred thousand copies in its first week.

Sting Begins Symphonicities Tour in June

Music industry icon, Sting, will be touring with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra beginning next month. The Symphonicities Tour will feature the newly orchestrated greatest hits from Sting’s fruitful career, both as a solo artist and with the Police. The 45-piece orchestra will take direction from conductor Steven Mercurio.

From his website, Sting is quoted as saying, “I’m delighted by this new opportunity to tour with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, having a whole new palate of musical colors to work with and reinventing the songs that have been the staples of my live performances for over thirty years.”

The Symphonicities Tour will begin at the Vancouver Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver, B.C. on June 2nd. Read More

Lady Gaga Extends Monster Ball Tour

Lady Gaga continues to wow fans all over the world on her Monster Ball Tour. The pop star just added even more dates to her already extensive tour.

In support of her newest album, The Fame Monster, Lady Gaga launched a massive tour in late 2009, which has already taken her to nine different countries.

She will be returning to North America for the second leg of “The Monster Ball Tour,” set to kickoff at Bell Centre in Montreal on June 28th. The new dates will continue into 2011. Read More

Our Lady Peace on Canada Tour

Toronto’s Our Lady Peace are making their way across Canada on a two-part concert tour, which began in March.
On separate nights, the band will be performing the albums, Clumsy and Spiritual Machines, in their entirety. The second half of each show will feature an array of songs from the group’s other records.
OLP are playing the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver tonight and tomorrow night. They will wrap their tour in St. John’s on August 2nd.

The Backstreet Boys have announced that they will bring their This is Us tour to Canada. The news comes on the heels of their seventeenth anniversary as a band.
The Backstreet Boys broke onto the music scene in 1996 with the self-titled album, Backstreet Boys. Their first release boasted memorable hits like “Quit Playin’ Games (With My Heart)” and “Everybody.”

American Country music star, Toby Keith, launches a tour of North America at the end of this month in promotion of his thirteenth studio album, American Ride.

Keith has come a long way since his debut single, “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” back in 1993. Since then, he has recorded nineteen number one hits, and performed eight different USO tours. He’s kept very busy.

According to Keith, he simply works hard, and enjoys the results of his labor. It is a practice that clearly works for him, having sold more than thirty million albums.
