The Flaming Lips Tour Through October

Eccentric rockers, The Flaming Lips, are currently on tour and in a city near you. They have four stops set for Canada, and over twenty cities left on their calendar. The tour runs through fall with the finale scheduled for St. Augustine, Florida on October 15th.

Led by the imaginative singer, guiarist, and songwriter, Wayne Coyne, The Flaming Lips have been around since the eighties. It was their 1999 album, The Soft Bulletin, that placed them into mainstream consciousness, and gained the group critical acclaim. By the time the 2002 follow up album, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, was released, the group had a devoted following. On tour for Yoshimi, they became known for their outlandish live shows. Paul McCartney Tours Through August

Musical icon, Paul McCartney, is currently on tour in the U.K. Summer dates are planned for North America, set to kick off on July 10th at AT&T Park in San Francisco. McCartney will play three nights in Canada, and continue to tour through August. The final show will be held at Pittsburgh’s brand new Consol Energy Center on August 18.

Paul McCartney doesn’t need much of an introduction. He is without a doubt one of the most influential musicians of all time. McCartney is renowned worldwide as the former bassist for the Beatles. Justin Bieber Extends My World Tour

Pop sensation, Justin Bieber, has extended his first headlining tour through December. The North American tour will cover over thirty new dates, including eight stops in Canada.

In only a few years, Justin Bieber has achieved musical success on an international level. In 2009, Bieber’s debut album, My World, went platinum in both the U.S. and Canada, and had singles topping charts worldwide.

Bieber’s My World Tour kicks off this month in Hartford, Connecticut. The final show is now scheduled for Atlanta, Georgia on December 23. Read More

Steve Miller Band Tours for Bingo!

The Steve Miller Band is currently touring in support of a new record, Bingo!, due out June 15th. The band will tour through the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Six Canadian stops are scheduled along the tour, as well as two dates in the U.K.

In a video released on the band’s website, Steve Miller talks about the making of Bingo!. He reminisces about experiences on stage with established musicians like Otis Redding during his early days in the Chicago music scene. The Chicago blues scene had a major impact on Miller as a musician, and in Bingo!, he has recreated his own versions of his favorite blues classics. Read More

Tool on Tour Next Month

American metal band, Tool, will kick off their 2010 tour at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 19th. The band has four dates scheduled for Canada. The final stop is set for the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California on July 13th.

No official word yet on an opening act, but rumor has it that the band is working on a new album. Fans shouldn’t get too excited about an all-new set list. While the rumor mill is always churning, Tool is known to take their time writing new material. Read More

The Black Keys are currently touring in support of their newest effort, Brothers. Just released this week, Brothers is the sixth album from the soulful duo.

On the heels of a recent hip-hop side project, Blakroc, the new release sees The Black Keys returning to the rugged, blues-infused sounds that first gained them popularity.
