Backstreet’s Back

The Backstreet Boys have announced that they will bring their This is Us tour to Canada. The news comes on the heels of their seventeenth anniversary as a band.
The Backstreet Boys broke onto the music scene in 1996 with the self-titled album, Backstreet Boys. Their first release boasted memorable hits like “Quit Playin’ Games (With My Heart)” and “Everybody.”
The band has never had a dull record. In fact, all seven of their studio releases have made it into the top ten on the Billboard 200.
They gained the most attention with their 1999 release, Millennium. Thousands of fans appeared in Times Square the day the album dropped, as band members conducted an interview with MTV just a short distance away. Millennium became the most popular album of the year, and spent ten consecutive weeks at number one.
The Backstreet Boys have been commercially successful around the world. Their album sales have soared to the tune of 100 million albums.

This is Us was released in 2009, and debuted at number nine. Although the album is quite contemporary, it definitely gives a nod to the past.
