The Wall Tour to Include Special Guest

By now, Pink Floyd fans everywhere are aware that Roger Waters will be touring The Wall in its entirety later this year.

In a surprise announcement yesterday on his Facebook page, Roger Waters revealed that former band member, David Gilmour, will join him for a single show along the tour. The two have agreed to perform the iconic song “Comfortably Numb” on stage together!

No details on which show will feature the special appearance. For now, and maybe until the actual event occurs, “it’s a surprise.”

Ottawa Bluesfest Kicks Off This Week

The seventeenth annual Ottawa Bluesfest kicks off tomorrow, July 6, and will run through Sunday, July 18. Going strong since 1994, the gala is ranked among Billboard Magazine’s list of top festivals worldwide.

As one of Canada’s largest music festivals, the Ottawa Bluesfest has expanded over the years to  accommodate over 200 bands from a broad range of musical genres on multiple stages. Read More

MGMT Tour for Congratulations

Led by Andrew Van Wyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, MGMT are currently on tour in support of their sophomore effort, Congratulations, with dates in Canada, the U.S., and U.K. The tour kicked off in spring, and will wrap up in December of this year.

MGMT received much praise for their 2008 release, Oracular Spectacular. The electro-pop sound and dance appeal of songs like “Kids” and “Electric Feel” earned the then duo a strong fan-base, and a Grammy nomination for “Best New Artist.” Read More

Live at Squamish Coming Labor Day Weekend

This Labor Day weekend, September 4 and 5, B.C. will host its first (possibly) annual Live at Squamish festival! This news on the heels of another Pemberton Festival cancellation, is very exciting for music fans across the province.

The Live at Squamish festival is kicking off on a much smaller scale than that of Pemberton. The venue will accommodate up to 13,000 people. The organizers for the event hope that it will grow over time, but are excited with the participation and response so far, adding that their agenda is to “create happy times in a big field with great music.”
