For a team who started the season with a 9-4 record not many cities other than Toronto would have expected it to deteriorate so fast. In a city that would kill to finally have a winning season, the Maple Leafs started off with high hopes. Dion Phaneuf and other newly acquired players like Kris Versteeg and Giguere as well as young ones with a lot of hype surrounding them such as Nazem Kadri brought Brian Burke’s play-off promises back to mind.
Two of the Maple Leaf‘s last three losses have been in shootouts and with their captain, Dion Phaneuf, sidelined for 4 to 6 weeks after a laceration to his leg against Ottawa, it is not time to give up hope on our Toronto Maple Leafs. Just like they started, they can turn this season around and finish strong.
