The 2010 Teen Choice Awards are set for August 8th at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
Held annually in summer, the event celebrates the best in entertainment determined by teens. With categories like Scene Stealer, Liplock, Hissy Fit, and Hookup Song, these awards are meant to be lighthearted and fun in comparison to their sometimes dry counterparts.
Spicy pop star, Katy Perry, will host the star-studded event. She will also perform. Perry’s new album, Teenage Dream, which includes the quickly rising hit, “California Gurls,” is set to drop August 24.
Other celebrities expected to make appearances are Zac Efron, the Kardashian sisters, and David Archuleta.
Past events have featured performances by the day’s most popular artists. This year’s rumored lineup will showcase performances by Miley Cirus, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Lady Gaga.
It all really comes down to who will win the coveted Choice boards. Twilight fans helped the film series set a record last year with eleven wins out of twelve nominations. This year, the popular series leads with seventeen nominations. Glee and Miley Cirus are not far behind, each receiving thirteen nominations.
