Katy Perry announces new ‘PRISMATIC WORLD TOUR’

Pop megastar Katy Perry is taking her chart-topping album PRISM on tour this summer! Joining her on tour on various dates will be Capital Cities, Kacey Musgraves and Tegan and Sara.

The ‘PRISMATIC WORLD TOUR’ will visit 46 North American cities over four months, beginning June 22nd in Raleigh, NC. The tour also includes just about every major Canadian city, including Montreal (July 15), Toronto (July 18), Calgary (August 29), Edmonton (August 31) and Vancouver (September 9). Tickets go on sale to the general public on January 27.

The 2010 Teen Choice Awards are set for August 8th at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
Held annually in summer, the event celebrates the best in entertainment determined by teens. With categories like Scene Stealer, Liplock, Hissy Fit, and Hookup Song, these awards are meant to be lighthearted and fun in comparison to their sometimes dry counterparts.

Katy Perry extends tour

After a disappointing end to her tour in late April, after wildfires in California forced the singer to cancel her closing show in Sant Barbara, Katy Perry has announced she will return for a short second leg of her tour, adding eight dates that will be performed through July to September, the final show being on September 5 at the Bumbershoot Festival.

The singer, best known for her hit “I Kissed a Girl,” is currently about to start a short, four-day tour of Japan beginning on May 25 before heading to Europe for the next leg of her tour.

The opening concert of the extended North American Tour will take place on July 24 in New York, and close on September 5 in Seattle; the postponed show in Santa Barbara has been rescheduled for August 30.
