Madonna shows it off on her latest MDNA tour

Madonna performs in Rome

Madonna was one of the first queens of controversy in the music industry, and a few weeks into her latest world tour, she has been up to her old tricks. ShowTimeTickets.com has tickets to all of Madonna’s MDNA tour dates, and if her first few shows are any indication, fans are in for quite the show. At 53 years old you gotta give her credit for staying in shape. I suppose we should be thankful for that, given Madge’s propensity to show off select bits of her body during these past few weeks:

  • June 7th concert in Istanbul, Turkey – Madonna briefly flashes a nipple to the crowd while performing “Human Nature”.
  • June 12th in Rome, Italy – The crowd gets a eyeful of Madonna’s  derriere as she moons the crowd while also performing “Human Nature”.
  • Earlier this week the scoop came out on the Material Girl being, well, a material girl with her extravagant entourage and on-tour demands

She had stayed pretty low key before her recent new album release with accompanying tour. Could this be a calculated publicity stunt? Or is this just part of what a Madonna show is all about?

In addition to this she has had a little back and forth with a new Madonna also known as Lady Gaga. I have to admit the first time I heard “Born this Way” by Gaga I was struck by the similarity to “Express Yourself” that Madonna released in ’89. Gaga’s claims the only similar thing between the songs are the chord progression. Well I guess that’s what make them sound the same. I really have a hard time when artists are offended by the notion their products may sound like something else because c’mon, Gaga has previously listed Madonna as an influence so you can’t tell me she had never heard of her song that may have had some impact on her art.

Reaction to Madonna’s latest headline-making antics has been mixed, with some calling it signs of an aging has-been trying to hold onto the spotlight. Others point out that Madonna deserves props for staying true to her risque image at her age.

What do you think?
