British soul singer, Adele, has announced the dates for her upcoming North America tour in support of 21. The tour kicks off in Washington D.C. on May 12th. Along with Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, Adele will play twenty U.S. cities through June.
Adele’s 2008 debut album, 19, reached number one on the U.K. charts, and gained much critical praise. She received two Grammys in 2009, the award for “Best New Artist” and “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.” Her highly anticipated follow-up album, 21, was released yesterday in the U.S., and has already sold 150,000. In its fourth week in the U.K., the album has sold over half a million copies.
