Canucks Rally for Game Four

Byfuglien and Louongo
Byfuglien and Louongo

As the Canucks get geared up to take on the Blackhawks tonight, let’s do a quick series recap.
After coming out strong in game one last Saturday, the Canucks find themselves down 2-1 in the Western Conference Semifinals today. The initial cinch win is now a distant memory, but I think I remember a different Louongo playing that game.
Not only did he come through, but he played his most solid game of the finals, making seventeen saves in the first period and thirty-six in all. That a boy, Lou.
What happened in Monday’s game two was another story. It seems, the Blackhawks know that our greatest strength has some rather obvious weaknesses. Louongo likes his space.
After adjusting their line-up, the Hawks pressured the net, leaving Louongo fairly rattled.
This, last year’s tactic, got downright ugly in game three, resulting in some quite unhappy Canucks. Read More

The suspense ended as the Chicago Blackhawks took the Nashville Predators 5-3 in Monday night’s game, securing a match-up with the Canucks for round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
It’s a bit of deja vu for these teams who met last season in the Western Conference semifinal. It would be an understatement to say that the Canucks are looking for a different outcome this time around, as Blackhawks clinched the series after six games last year.
The dates are still being confirmed by the league, but it looks like Game 1 of Round 2 will take place Saturday, May 1, in Chicago. The home-ice advantage goes to the Blackhawks. Read More

Following the Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks take on the St. Louis Blues tonight at GM Place. Canucks are on a winnicanucksng streak, with five consecutive victories. They are currently tied for first place in the Northwest Division with the Colorado Avalanche.
The Blues have been a tough competitor for the Canucks this season, winning two of the three games they’ve played.
With the winning momentum and home turf advantage, the Canucks are favored this time around. Tonight’s game should be intense.
Tomorrow, Canucks leave for an eighteen day stint, heading first to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs.  Canucks initially struggled on the road, but have improved their playing status. They will play fourteen games away, before returning to GM Place on March 13 to compete against the Senators.
Tickets are still available for tonight’s game. For Canucks tickets, vist ShowTimeTickets.com.
