Smashing Pumpkins Canadian tour

The Smashing Pumpkins will be taking a trip to Canada to entertain six cities with their new album in mind. Oceania is the eighth studio album by group, released on June 19, 2012.

Corgan has said that Oceania is the Pumpkins’ “best effort since Mellon Collie”. He claims the album is partly about “people struggling to find a social identity in today’s fast-paced, technology-rich culture”.

Dates have announced for what is being called the band’s first major Canadian tour in more than 10 years. They will be playing its latest release in full followed by classic Pumpkin tunes. The Canadian tour begins Oct. 2 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Check out the routing below.

Oct. 2 – Winnipeg, Manitoba, MTS Centre

The performance will feature visuals from Sean Evans using new technology in video-mapping. For those of you that don’t know, that’s all the flashing lights, video screens, props, and basically everything that makes a concert. Evans recently helped Roger Waters put together the latest staging of “The Wall” tour.
