With 30 teams, the NHL has had its interesting share of jerseys over the past few decades. There have been the classics (think Original Six), and then there have been the downright awful (think The Flying V, Nashville’s Mustards, Wild Wing, LA’s 1996 alternates…..the list goes on and on).
Thankfully, there are always a few gems that stand out as good representatives of what the hockey sweater can be. Here are my top five NHL jerseys for the 2011-2012 season.
1 Chicago Black Hawks (Home Jersey)
2. Minnesota Wild (Home Jersey)
3. Washington Capitals (3rd Jersey)
4. Columbus Blue Jackets (3rd Jersey)
5. Ottawa Senators (3rd Jersey)
Sadly, only the Washington Capitals are the only team still alive and kicking in the playoffs thus far, so we won’t get to see most of these jerseys in action til next season.
