DJ Earworm mashes up every hit song of 2011

DJ Earworm is twisted genius – every year, he takes the 25 most popular songs on the radio and mashes them all into one crazy megamix: Adele, Pitbull, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Foster the People, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, and more. It’s somewhere between Girl Talk and Glee, and it’s absolutely going to blow you away.

Since he uploaded the 2011 “United State of Pop” mix less than a week ago, it’s already received almost 4 million hits on YouTube. Check it out for yourself below.

Adele’s “Someone Like You” on accordion: oddly great!

Since a friend sent us this accordion version of Adele’s “Someone Like You,” we haven’t been able to stop playing it around the office.

YouTuber Brynn Corbello doesn’t just let her accordion and voice loose on Adele, though: she’s got a bevy of covers, ranging from Trey Songz to Lady Gaga. Here’s one we particularly enjoyed, of Gaga’s “Paparazzi.”

Check out her YouTube channel here, and let us know if you find any other great covers in the comments below!

New Music (Video) Alert: Foster the People’s “Call It What You Want”

They’re absolutely blowing up, and it’s no wonder: Foster the People’s accessible, dancey take on 21st-century indie pop-rock is irresistable for everyone from the yoga moms picking up a copy of Torches with her morning latte, to the tattooed art student frothing the milk for her.

Here’s the band’s newest video, for “Call It What You Want.” It’s a little weird, fascinating to look at, but most of all serves as a companion to the song itself, which is upbeat, catchy, and the perfect antidote to the winter doldrums.

Foster the People are on tour now, and shows are selling out fast. Don’t worry, though: we’ve got you covered. Visit our site for Foster the People ticket information, and remember: the box office may be sold out, but we’re not.

Harmonimix (James Blake) remixes Destiny’s Child – “Bills Bills Bills”

It boy James Blake churns out a seriously strange version of Destiny’s Child’s “Bills Bills Bills” under his “Harmonimix” moniker. Check it out below, and check with us for James Blake tickets if you feel like seeing him live–he’s on tour now with stops in Vancouver at the Commodore Ballroom, Seattle at the Showbox Theatre, Chicago at the Metro, DC at the 9:30 Club, and Brooklyn at the Music Hall of Williamsburg starting late September.

Jack White and Insane Clown Posse: together at last!

In probably the weirdest piece of music news this week, the White Stripes’ Jack White has teamed up with Midwest rap-themed horror entertainers the Insane Clown Posse (of the often-parodied “Miracles” video–yeah, the one with the “magnets, how do they work?” line) for an obscenely-titled collaboration based on a Mozart sample. The song, “Leck Mich Im Arsch” (the title of which we are NOT translating), also features the instrumental work of hard-rockers JEFF the Brotherhood.

Jack White and ICP

Take a listen for yourself over at Pitchfork, who first reported on this. That picture, by the way, is not a photoshop. This is a real thing. Hopefully Jack gets sick of this kind of weird publicity stunt and phones up Meg, and we’ll see the two of ’em at Coachella 2013.
