Up first is the 31st annual Calgary Folk Festival on July 22 – 25. Held at the beautiful Prince’s Island Park in downtown Calgary, the festival has over sixty-five musicians on seven stages. Highlighting this year’s stages are Roberta Flack, The Avett Brothers, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and K’Naan.
Each year in mid-August, Edmonton hosts the Edmonton Folk Music Festival in downtown at Gallagher Park. This year, the four day event will feature many great artists, among them are Van Morrison, Ben Harper & the Relentless 7, Calexico, Colin Hay, and Jakob Dylan & the Three Legs.
