Based in Washington, D.C., the DJ duo Thievery Corporation has recorded a steady stream of successful hits that mix everything from Classical Indian music to acid, reggae, Middle Eastern, and Brazilian influences. Their love of the lounge style is always present. The first two 12" releases, "Shaolin Satellite" and "A Spliff Odyssey" were followed up with the '97 debut, "Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi."
2002 saw the release of "Richest Man in Babylon." Three years later, a darker work, "The Cosmic Game" met with success. After the 2006 "Versions," remixes of work done for other artists, the duo toured the U.S. Their 5th studio album, Radio Retaliation was nominated for a Grammy, and five consecutive shows were sold out at the 9:30 Club in D.C. Founder Eric Hilton made his film directing debut in 2011 with "Culture of Fear."
