Folk rock artist, Andrew Bird, hails from Chicago, Illinois. He began performing as a child. His debut solo album, Music of Hair, was released in 1996, shortly after he graduated from Northwestern University. He then released a series of three albums with his band, Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire. In all, Bird has released more than thirteen albums, including solo works, live albums and collaborative works.
Andrew Bird's unique sound injects centuries-old instrumentation into period and contemporary folk music. His primary instruments include the violin, guitar, glockenspiel and his uncanny knack at whistling.
