American rapper Young Jeezy (Jay Wayne Jenkins, b. '77) worked with hip hop group, "United Streets Dopeboyz of America" and is a former member of "Black Mafia Family." His career began on an independent label in 2001, and in '05, he joined Boyz N Da Hood.
Young Jeezy's first major solo hit was "Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101." The single, "Soul Survivor" hit the top ten in the U.S. "Inspiration" and "The Recession" in '06 and '08 both had singles that topped charts, and he appeared on numerous other rap and R&B singles. "Usher" became a #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 for 2008.
