Born in 1989, the American R&B singer from Glendale, Arizona, Jordin Sparks, won the sixth season of American Idol at the age of seventeen. Her self-titled debut album went platinum in the U.S., and over two million copies have been sold worldwide. The single, "No Air," is the best-selling of any Idol winner.
Sparks won the American Music Award in '08, and was nominated for a Grammy in '09. Following her second album, "Battlefield" in the same year, she became the only Idol winner to have her first five singles reach the top twenty. Nine million singles have been sold to date. She appeared on Broadway as Nina Rosario in "The Heights."
