Green Day singer kicked off Southwest flight for saggy pants!

Rock and roll sure has come a long way since the days of Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and their private jets. Green Day singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, the voice behind hits like “Longview” and “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life),” was recently asked to leave a Southwest Airlines flight out of Oakland, California for wearing his pants too low.

After being asked to pull up his pants by a stewardess, Armstrong asked whether she had “better things to do than worry about that.” When he refused a second request, he was ejected from the plane. After posting about it on Twitter, however, the singer became part of a growing list of celebrities to receive an apology from Southwest after complaining about them on social media.

Green Day calls on big-name bands for support

Green Day recently announced the dates and locations of their upcoming and highly anticipated tour in support of their brand new album, “21st Century Breakdown,” and now they are proud to announce the opening acts that will accompany them along the North American leg of the tour.

The Bravery, The Kaiser Chiefs, and Franz Ferdinand will be taking turns opening for the legendary punk-pop group throughout the summer up until August 25th, which marks the official end of the North American portion of the tour.

The Bravery will take the honors as being the first opening act, beginning on July 3rd in Seattle, Washington and continuing through to the July 25th show in Albany, New York. From July 27th to August 7th, The Kaiser Chiefs will be prepping fans for the main event, and from August 8th through to the 25th Franz Ferdinand will take the place as opening act.

Green Day’s North American tour is in promotion of their eighth studio album — their first in five years — which has topped the Billboard 200 list, selling approximately 215,000 copies in only the first three days on shelves.

Green Day returns for North American Tour!

Green Day, having taken over a three year break since their last tour, has announced that they will return with a total of 39 concerts across North America, promoting their soon-to-be-released album, 21st Century Breakdown. The opening show will take place in Seattle’s Key Arena on July 3rd, and the tour will continue across the U.S and Canada until the final show on August 25th at The Forum in Los Angeles. All Canadian Green Day tickets go on sale May 8th, except for the Ottawa and Montreal shows which go on sale on the 9th. For the American concerts, ticket sale dates vary, so check out Green Day’s official tour page for details on each show.

“Know Your Enemy,” the first single off of the album that is being promoted on the tour, has already taken the top spot on radios for the Alternative genre, making it their ninth number one single for the genre. The album has already impressed critics, with one reviewer from Rolling Stone in particular claiming “21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s best album.” If you’re a fan of Green Day, it sounds like you have a lot to look forward to with the new album and tour!
