VANOC tackles the issue of ticket re-sellers as Vancouver 2010 tickets go on sale today. Murray Pratt of ShowTime Tickets said his company is serious about making sure customers get legitimate tickets. “Our intent is to work on behalf of our customers,” he said, “Go participate in the sale [of 2010 tickets] and if you can get them there, fine. But if you can’t get in on that, or didn’t get in on the initial allocation, folks like us can help.”

With AC/DC‘s Vancouver show selling-out in four minutes, fans have become increasingly frustrated with their inability to obtain tickets. Many fans believe that ticket re-sellers, fan club pre-sales and radio promotions contribute to their being fewer tickets available for direct sale. Murray Pratt, of ShowTimeTickets.com, says its an issue of supply and demand,”the AC/DC tour is probably one of the most sought-after tickets in North America.”

Despite VANOC’s claims that they will be policing unauthorized ticket re-sellers for the Vancouver 2010 Games, Mario Livich, CEO & Founder of ShowTimeTickets.com, says they will be very active in selling these tickets, “it’s a legal business, the buying and selling of tickets, and it’s a much-valued service in the marketplace.”
