Guitar legend, Eric Clapton, has just announced tour dates along the North American west coast set for spring of 2011. The tour announcement comes on the heels of his nineteenth release, Clapton, which features famed musicians like Sheryl Crow, Steve Winwood, and Allen Toussaint.

The tour will get underway in Vancouver on February 25, then head south for dates in seven U.S. cities, including a two night stand in Universal City, CA.

Eric Clapton Kicks Off 2010 Tour

Blues-rock guitar legend, Eric Clapton, will be launching an international tour beginning in February at the O2 Arena in London. He will be performing with Jeff Beck of the Yardbirds while touring in North America, and Roger Daltrey of The Who while in the U.K.

At an early age, Clapton became engrossed in Blues music. Inspired by musicians like Robert Johnson, he studied the history, learned the art, and became an expert. In an interview with BBC, he describes an emotional attachment he feels to the genre.

“The Blues are what I’ve turned to, what has given me inspiration and relief in all the trials of my life.”

In his forty-plus year career, Clapton has become a multi-platinum artist with eighteen Grammys and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame status. He is considered one of the most influential guitarists of all time.
