Postponed Dixie Chicks concert in Calgary rescheduled for October 31

After the original date was postponed due to flood damage earlier this summer, the Dixie Chicks concert at Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome has been rescheduled to October 31, 2013. The country music stars were forced to call off their July 12 date after extensive flooding – in which water came up past half the arena’s lower bowl – caused serious damage to the entire building.

Tickets purchased to the original concert date will be honored for the rescheduled October 31st date.

Dixie Chicks to perform at 2013 Calgary Stampede

Shuffle over, Tim McGraw – the Dixie Chicks are coming to town.

The best-selling female music group of all time will headline the summer concert lineup if the 2013 Calgary Stampede. Their performance is the latest big-name announcement in the annual Stampede’s Virgin Mobile concert series, as the Chicks join fellow country music superstar Tim McGraw on the card. The Dixie Chicks will be delighting crowds at the Scotiabank Saddledome on July 12, 2013.

The group has taken a break from performing for the past five years since releasing their last album Taking the Long way back in 2006 and running afoul with some U.S. country music stations after making critical remarks during the Iraq War. While the ensuing controversy and hiatus has dimmed their star somewhat, the Dixie Chicks are expected to be a hot ticket come July 12.

Presales for the Calgary concert are set to begin Tuesday morning, with the general onsale scheduled for Saturday February 9th. After their long hiatus, tickets for the Dixie Chicks are expected to be in high demand and will likely sell out quickly.
