In the first game of the CONCACAF preliminary round yesterday, the Toronto FC defeated CD Motague 1 to 0 at BMO Field.
The game’s only goal came at the 20 minute mark when Dwayne De Rosario split the defense, leaving Walter Flores, the Motague goal k eeper, alone with TFC’s Chad Barrett who was able to put a left footed kick to the back of the net. Toronto FC was hungry for another goal, and dominated the majority of the game play, including the shots (13 – 4), but they were unsuccessful.
A number of TFC players expressed their frustration with not being able to widen the lead in this aggregated series.
