While the Toronto FC is getting ready to face their Western Conference equals, FC Dallas, on Saturday, the Reds are also preparing for a much harder fight ahead of them.

The game this weekend will be a good indicator of how the Eastern and Western MLS conferences compare, as well as how far the Toronto FC has come in the 3 years since they entered the MLS.

The two teams have had similar runs the last two seasons, finishing within one point of one another. This year, they are both sitting in third place in their division with FC Dallas at 25 points and Toronto FC at 22.

Hopefully, newcomers to the Toronto FC such as Miguel Angel Ferrer Martinez (Mista) and Maicon Santos will help light some fire under the team to finish the season strong. The Spanish striker Mista has won two league titles with Valencia while the 26 year old Santos’ resume includes play in professional leagues in Brazil, Libya and Israel.

With their first CONCACAF match on July 27th against Club Deportivo Motagua (Honduras) at BMO Field the Reds have an opportunity to go further than any Canadian soccer team has before and really give their fans something to cheer about.
