Georges St-Pierre to defend title vs. Nick Diaz at UFC 158 in Montreal

GSP is getting his wish.
Fresh off his comeback win over Carlos Condit one month ago, Georges St-Pierre is returning to the Octagon in the spring. The reigning welterweight champion is set to fight Nick Diaz in a title bout at the Bell Centre on March 16, 2013. It’s a fight that St-Pierre has been gunning for in the aftermath of his successful title defence in November, a rematch after Diaz was pulled from their UFC 137 matchup due to Diaz’s no-show at promotional events and then injury forcing St-Pierre out of another matchup back in February.
The bout between GSP and Diaz has clearly touched a nerve with the normally statesman-like St-Pierre, who was quoted as saying that Diaz has “made it personal and I personally can’t wait”. There’s bad blood between the two fighters, which should make for an especially interesting match-up come March.
Other matchups on the UFC 158 card include other welterweight bouts between Canadian Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit, as well as Johny Hendricks taking on Jake Ellenberger. Public onsales start January 19th, but fans can pre-order their UFC 158 tickets with ShowTimeTickets.com, where you can get any ticket, any time for all the best events worldwide!

Cirque du Soleil's "Amaluna" blends feminist-themed Tempest with circus

Cirque du Soleil is world-renowned for its dazzling combination of circus acrobatics, theatrical storytelling and unmatched production value in costumes and live music. What began as a small touring troupe is now one of Canada’s most recognizable and successful entertainment exports, with shows in over 40 countries.
Cirque’s latest North American production Amaluna is currently performing under their trademark blue-and-yellow tent at Vancouver’s Concord Pacific Place. The show is inspired by the Shakespearean tale The Tempest, following a group of men washed ashore upon a mysterious island populated by goddesses. A princess of the island eventually falls in love with one of the men and the show’s acts follow the trials of the ensuing romance.
The show has garnered rave reviews (see: The Straight and Vancouver Sun) from the press praising the show’s plot, cast, and of course, the circus stunts and acts that have made Cirque so famous. Highlights – if one can pick one out of the many – include women traipsing on tight-wires in high heels, aerial scenes with actors careening over the audience’s heads, and a steamy, borderline-PG waterbowl contortionist act.
Amaluna is on an extended run at Vancouver’s Concord Pacific Place until January 20th, 2013, and is slated to perform in Calgary and Edmonton in the spring. Order your Cirque du Soleil tickets today and experience an unforgettable show like no other!

ufc 149
The game of musical chairs continues on the UFC 149 fight card in Calgary this summer. Tickets for UFC 149 have long been sold out, but there is still uncertainty about who 18-odd thousand fans will actually see inside the Octagon come July 21st.
So here is the latest update on the UFC 149 fight card, straight from UFC.com:

UFC 149 and UFC on FOX 4 have swapped stars after another pair of injuries shook up the summer fight scene today.
British middleweight Michael Bisping has been injured and is out of his UFC 149 bout against rising force Tim Boetsch. Stepping in to meet “The Barbarian” will be Hector Lombard, a former Cuban Olympian who rides a 25-fight unbeaten streak into his Octagon debut.
Lombard had been slated to fight Brian Stann in the main event of UFC on FOX 4 in August, but was left opponentless earlier today after Stann was forced to withdraw due to injury. That event got a new headliner in the form of Shogun Rua, who’d been left orphaned on the UFC 149 fight card after planned opponent Thiago Silva was hurt.
Two Thiagos Injured, Off Canada Card updated June 4
Two of the UFC’s top Thiagos have suffered injuries forcing them off the UFC 149 fight card, as Thiago Alves is out of his bout against Siyar Bahadurzada, while Thiago Silva has had to withdraw from his co-main bout against former light heavyweight champion Shogun Rua.
Stepping in to the welterweight bout in Alves’ place is Chris Clements, a striker from London, Ontario, Canada, who won his UFC debut at UFC 145 in April. Read More
