It’s never too early to think about hockey! After finishing out of playoff contention this past season, the Canucks generated some much-needed buzz with their 5th-overall pick of Swedish centre Elias Pettersson among others at the 2017 entry draft. Pettersson is touted as a much-needed offensive prospect for a team that struggled to put pucks in the net last season.
Prior to the draft, the NHL released its 2017-2018 regular season schedule. The Canucks will begin their season with a home game versus Connor McDavid’s Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, October 7th.
