Canada looks to reclaim gold at home with 2015 World Juniors set to begin in Toronto and Montreal

2015 World Junior Hockey Championship ticketsCanada hasn’t won gold at the World Junior Hockey Championship since 2009, and has failed to get a medal of any color since 2012. With the 2015 tournament set to begin in just over a week in Toronto and Montreal, Hockey Canada is hoping that home ice advantage will give its team the boost needed to get back on the podium.
Canada’s roster likely won’t be finalized until closer to the December 25th deadline, but chief among those considered a lock for the 2015 squad is super-prospect Connor McDavid. Despite missing more than a month of action with a broken hand, the centre is widely forecasted to be the #1 pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Other locks for the team include 2014 returners Sam Reinhart, Josh Morissey and Nic Petan. In net, Canada will go with 2014 starter Zach Fucale and Eric Comrie.
Team Canada plays its first exhibition game on December 19 versus Russia in Toronto, followed by Sweden on December 21 and Switzerland on December 23. The tournament begins in earnest on Boxing Day, with Canada hosting Slovakia at the Bell Centre.
