Jack White and Insane Clown Posse: together at last!

In probably the weirdest piece of music news this week, the White Stripes’ Jack White has teamed up with Midwest rap-themed horror entertainers the Insane Clown Posse (of the often-parodied “Miracles” video–yeah, the one with the “magnets, how do they work?” line) for an obscenely-titled collaboration based on a Mozart sample. The song, “Leck Mich Im Arsch” (the title of which we are NOT translating), also features the instrumental work of hard-rockers JEFF the Brotherhood.

Jack White and ICP

Take a listen for yourself over at Pitchfork, who first reported on this. That picture, by the way, is not a photoshop. This is a real thing. Hopefully Jack gets sick of this kind of weird publicity stunt and phones up Meg, and we’ll see the two of ’em at Coachella 2013.

Jay-Z on Chris Brown: UNIMPRESSED.

Jay-Z had a front row seat for troubled singer Chris Brown’s performance at the MTV VMAs, and it was obvious that years after Chris Brown’s assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna, Jay has yet to become a member of Team Breezy. During Brown’s wildly athletic (though obviously lip-synced) dance performance, MTV’s cameras kept cutting to Jay-Z sitting in his seat, totally unmoving amidst a sea of clapping, dancing fellow celebs. Awkward, to say the least, but not surprising: Jay-Z discovered Rihanna, and was largely responsible for the success of her early singles.

What do you think? Is it time for everyone involved to move on, or does Chris Brown not deserve to have a career?

Van Halen’s “Running With The Devil” without the instruments sounds very strange.

Turns out that David Lee Roth’s vocal performance from Van Halen’s 1978 hit “Running With The Devil,” sans instruments or effects, has been leaked to YouTube. It’s incredibly weird, but kind of amazing–Diamond Dave sounds kind of like a saber-tooth tiger who just stubbed his toe. Try listening to this while reading their 1982 concert rider. You know, the one which demands a bowl of M&M’s with the brown ones removed.

Van Halen are allegedly recording a new album right now (their first with David Lee Roth in decades!) and will be putting together a world tour to promote it. If you need tickets, we’ve got you covered.

Four Disney Princesses… At Once! Live!

For all you Disney fans out there, here’s a special treat: four of Disney’s classic princesses together, live, performing “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes.” The people behind the voices are Paige O’Hara (Belle from Beauty and the Beast), Lea Salonga (Mulan), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana from the Princess and the Frog) and Jodi Benson (Ariel, the Little Mermaid).

Enjoy!

Liam Gallagher of Oasis: “Why I’m Suing My Brother Noel”

Looks like Liam Gallagher isn’t exactly taking his own band’s advice when it comes to looking back in anger. The Oasis singer is pursuing legal action against his brother Noel, former guitarist for the broken-up band. The pair have fought publicly before, but this is the first time legal action has been involved.

Rather than money or publishing rights, Liam is suing Noel for allegedly telling lies about him. In 2009, Noel publicly stated that Oasis was unable to perform at the V Music Festival because Liam was too hungover. Liam, on the other hand, claimed that he had laryngitis and had been advised by his doctor that singing hits like “Champagne Supernova” or “Wonderwall” could be seriously bad for his vocal cords. The full statement follows:
