Saturday, the Vancouver Canucks return from a five game road trip to take on the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks kicked off their Western Road trip with a 5-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers and will be facing off against the Calgary Flames this evening.

The Blackhawks’ team that the Canucks will face on Saturday has experienced significant reshuffling since last year. Almost half their team were not on the roster for last year’s win. Robert Plant on Band of Joy Tour

Famed Led Zeppelin front-man, Robert Plant, revealed the tour dates for the second leg of his Band of Joy North American tour this week.

The tour kicks off on January 18th in Asheville, NC, and ends with two nights at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, TN on February 8th and 9th. Plant will also play one show in Toronto on January 22nd. The North Mississippi Allstars will offer support as opening act for all dates.

Yesterday, Kid Rock announced the first round of dates for his Born Free Tour, which will take him to cities all over the U.S. in 2011.

According to his official website, Kid Rock will kick off the tour with a huge party of a show at the Detroit Lions’ Ford Field on January 15th, honoring his 40th birthday.

giguereFinally, the Toronto Maple Leafs 8 game loosing streak has come to a close! They were able to pull off a 5 to 4 win over the Nashville Predators last night with exceptional second period play.

Turnovers in the first period and early in the second put the Maple Leafs behind 4 to 1, but undisciplined play by the Predators gave the Maple Leafs a 5 on 3 player advantage which resulted in two goals by Kris Versteeg 10 seconds apart. Alternative rockers, Linkin Park, announced the dates for their upcoming North American tour, set to kick off in January. Nineteen U.S. cities, as well as Montreal and Toronto have made it onto the 2011 itinerary.
