Eagles of Death Metal Tickets

Eagles of Death Metal (sometimes written as "EofDM") is an American garage rock band formed by Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme. While Hughes is the leader of the band, Homme is its best known member due to his history as leader of Queens of the Stone Age and as a member of Kyuss.

Eagles of Death Metal's latest album, Death by Sexy, was released in April 2006. It is their sophomore effort following their 2004 debut album release entitled Peace, Love, Death Metal. During the first half of 2006 they toured in support of The Strokes and headlined their own US tour with openers The Giraffes followed by dates opening for Peaches.

Despite the name, Eagles of Death Metal is not a death metal band. Hughes says the name came from a response to a drunken man, who argued Poison were death metal. Hughes retorted that Poison were "the Eagles of death metal". Later, Josh Homme inspired him to write music that he thought would be The Eagles crossed with death metal, and their debut album was the result. In a 2003 interview, Homme described the sound of the band as a combination of "bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals".
