Amanda Palmer is a punk cabaret musician from Lexington, Massachusetts. In 2001, she began her formal musical career as one half of the duo The Dresden Dolls. Though they both have other projects, The Dresden Dolls still perform together on occasion. Her solo career was heralded in by the 2008 release of her album titled Who Killed Amanda Palmer. She also performs as part of the duo named Evelyn Evelyn.
As a solo act, Amanda Palmer also released the album Amanda Palmer Goes Down Under in 2011. Debuting at No. 25 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, this album marked the beginning of an extensive world tour. Palmer's versatility and unique performance styles make it difficult to classify her at all, because there is no one else quite like her.
