Patti Lupone's achievements as a singer and actress are too numerable to mention. Born in 1949, she won a Tony Award for Eva Peron in "Evita." Her Fantine in "Les Miserables", and Norma Desmond in "Sunset Boulevard" were enormously successful as well.
Lupone joined John Houseman's "The Acting Company" in '72 and stayed through '76. In รข??85, she won an Olivier Award for her work in Blitztein's musical, "The Cradle Will Rock." Her one-woman show won an Outer Circle Award, and she debuted in "Seven Deadly Sins," the last collaboration of Weill and Brecht, at the New York City Ballet. She refers to her time playing Evita as a horrible experience.
