Born Maurice Young in 1993, the American rapper/producer from Miami performed with 2 Live Crew to gain first recognition. A platinum artist, the first album, "Based On a True Story," brought local fame in '97. In the '98 album, "www.thug.com," the term "dollar" was removed.
"Nanna Nigga" became a national hit, and "Thugs Are Us" came out in '01. The fifth album, "Thug Holiday" came out in '04, and the final of the series was entitled, "Thug Matrimony: Married to the Streets." He appeared on Pitbull's "The Boatlift" in '07, and in 2010 founded a new label, "Trick Daddy Music Group."
