American rapper, William Leonard Roberts II goes by the stage name of Rick Ross, a name taken from drug smuggler "Freeway" Rick Ross, who sued the musician for using it. Ross founded the label Maybach Music Group, then released two albums, "Deeper Than Rap" and "Teflon Don."
His debut album, "Port of Miami," topped Billboard in '06 with 187,000 sold the first week. In '08, the second album, "Trilla," did much the same thing. Diddy, a frequent collaborator, is working with Ross on an EP for a 2011 release. He is slated to perform at the BET awards.
