Hairspray Tickets

Hairspray is a Tony-winning musical, based on the 1988 movie Hairspray. The story is of a girl named Tracy Turnblad whose dream is to dance on the Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program based on the real-life Buddy Dean Show in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. She gets a chance on the show and becomes a celebrity overnight. She then launches a campaign to racially integrate the Corny Collins Show.

The stage adaption of Hairspray was first presented at Seattle's Fifth Avenue Theatre before arriving in New York City in 2002.

The Broadway musical will be re-adapted as a musical film in 2007. It will star John Travolta and Queen Latifah as Edna Turnblad and Motormouth Maybelle, respectively.
