The AHL All-Star Skills Competition is a hockey event that began in 1995 to showcase the talents of the best players in the league in a competition against one another. It takes place around the same time as the AHL All-Star Game. The Canadian team is made up only of players from Canada, while the PlanetUSA team is made up of the non-Canadian players.
Players are put to the test in events such as accuracy shooting, fastest skater, and hardest shot. Representatives from each All-Star team are chosen for each event, with the winner earning a point for their team.
