An American garage rock band from Tacoma, Washington in the early to mid '60s, The Sonics were contemporaries of Paul Revere & The Raiders, and are said to have founded much of the Seattle music scene. Their best-known hits are "Louie Louie" and "Have Love Will Travel." The subject matter was always centered on '60s youth culture.
The band reformed in '72 for the Seattle Paramount Live Show. In '80, a new line-up recorded "Sindarella." In 2007, they returned again for the Cavestomp Garage Festival in Brooklyn and recorded live for BBC. Festival appearances included Primavera in Barcelona, Sjock Festival of Belgium and the Azkena Rock Festival in Basque country.
