My Bloody Valentine was founded by Kevin Shields in Dublin, '1983. They resettled in London. The name is taken from a horror film. Their style is distinct in its use of pitch bending, distortion and reverb known as "shoegazing" (in which performers stand in a detached state). They released an acclaimed album in '91, "Loveless," which took two years to fund.
The band went inactive after that, recording and shelving several years of material, but reunited in '07. They have performed in numerous festivals, including Roskilde (Denmark), Festival Internacion de Benicassim (Spain), Fuji, Oslo, The Electric Picnic Festival, Ireland, Isle of Wight and All Tomorrow's Parties.
