An American rock band formed in Phoenix in 1980, the ensemble started as a punk rock group, but went into a gradual blend of genres. They appeared as guests on Nirvana's "MTV Unplugged" in '93. Among their most successful efforts was the '94 album, "Too High to Die."
The band broke up twice in '96 and '02, then reunited in '06, serving as an influence of several other bands. In 2011, they performed "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for SPIN's twentieth anniversary tribute to Nirvana's "Nevermind." Their thirteenth album, "Lollipop," was released in 2011.
