Born in Nova Scotia in 1972, Richard Terfry, a Canadian alternative hip hop artist, MC and turntable performer, merged blues, country, rock, folk and avant-garde during his days as a radio host for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He has adopted a number of other stage names such as Johnny Rockwell, Stinkin' Rich, Haslam and Uncle Climax.
His first release in '93, "Man Overboard" was a breakthrough, being re-released on Warner Bros. Records. Still, he has never been commercially successful. After the '07 release of "Situation" and the '08 one-track download, he went back to CBC as a host.
